✦ Synopsis


The new metal-free phthalocyanines 9,10-fused symmetrically in the peripheral positions with four diazadithiatetraoxa and diazahexaoxamacrobicycles, respectively, have been synthesized by bicyclotetramerization of isoindolinediimine derivatives of cryptands 7 and 8 and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1 H and 13 C NMR, UV-vis and MS spectroscopic data.
