Novel analogs of trifenagrel were synthesized by using inexpensive and reusable phosphotungstic acid, H~3~[PW~12~O~40~] (3 mol %) catalyst under classical heating. Two of the newly synthesized triaryl imidazoles exhibited moderate antibacterial activity. J. Heterocyclic Chem., 46, 195 (2009).
