## Abstract The fragmentation pathways of several substituted 1,4βnaphthoquinones have been studied by multi stage mass spectrometry. Methods for the recognition and identification of 1,4βnaphthoquinones and of substitution patterns on the naphthoquinone nucleus are outlined.
