Indolotriazolobenzazepines 6 are prepared by cyclisation of thiolactam 4 with acylhydrazides 5. The influence of the 1‐ substituent on the barrier of ring inversion of the new ring system 6 is studied by dynamic ^1^H‐NMR spectroscopy.
