It has been suggested that fragile sites on human chromosomes predispose to specific rearrangements seen in cancer. Renal cell carcinoma is characterised by recurrent aberrations of chromosome 3p and frequent rearrangements of chromosome 5q. To investigate whether there might be an association betwe
