## Abstract After degradation at 450°C in sealed capillary tubes with sulfuric acid 1:1 (v:v) containing 0,2% mercuric chloride, the amino‐acid and polypeptide nitrogen (1 to 8 μg) in 10 μl of eluate can be assayed by colorimetry with ninhydrine. The exact procedure used is described.
