## Abstract Two new pentachlorocyclohexanes m.56° and m.107° have been prepared by chlorination of 1,2,4,5‐tetrachlorocyclohexane m.174°. On the basis that, by further chlorination, compound m.56° gave the known hexachlorocyclohexane m.109° while compound m.107° gave a new hexachlorocyclohexane m.7

Abstract
ζ‐Hexachlorocyclohexane is proved to be a 1,1,2,4,4,5‐hexachlorocyclohexane by synthesis from 1,1,4,4‐tetrachlorocyclohexane. The latter has been prepared from cyclohexane‐dione‐l,4, 1,1,4,4‐tetracetoxycyclohexane and 1,4‐dichloro‐l, 4‐diacetoxy‐cyclohexane.

## Abstract The synthesis of 1‐fluoro‐4,4‐di‐hydroxymethyl‐pentane (I) and its dicarbamate (II) is described. (I) is obtained by classical alkylation of methylmalonic ester with 1‐ bromo‐3‐fluoro‐propane and subsequent reduction with LiAlH~4~, of the fluorinated diester obtained. Treated with phosg
