β¦ Synopsis
Superconducting properties of Bi2SrzCaCu208 films have been measured using the infra-red spectroscopy technique at fixed frequency. It is possible with this technique to determine the variation of the order parameter as a function of temperature and the critical magnetic field as a function of temperature. This last result together with the BCS theory allows a determination of the Fermi velocity in the a-b plane of the structure.

We report tunneling measurements of the superconducting energy gaps in YBa.Cu307 and Bi2Sr.CaCthO 8 using b~eak junctions. The differential conductance d/fdV at T = 4.2 K shows no leakage around zero ba~s, while the t,,q~ -dge peaks m d//dV are somewhat broadened compared to the simple BCS density o
