β¦ Synopsis
Complexes of the type [(M(CO),),L/ (M = C'r or W, L = RS(CH&SR, R = Me and n = 6, R = Et andn=2or4;M=W,R=Meort-Buandn=2), fM(CO)5LJ (M = CF or W, L = MeSCH,Ph; M = Cr, L = EtS(CH&SEt) and [M(CO)4L] (M = Cr, MO or W, L = EtS(CH&SEt) have been isolated and characterised by i r., u.v.-visible and 'H n.m.r. spectroscopy. The bonding of alkyl sulphide ligand to group 6 metal carbonyls is discussed. The bridged ligand complexes with n = 2 decompose affording the related chelate complex and the present hexacarbonyl. Related bridged amine ligand complexes lfM(CO)s )A~/ (M = Q or W, L = H2N(CH,)nNHz, n = 2 or 12) are also reported and discussed.

## Abstract A new, convenient, and safe route to 1,3,5βtriaminoβ1,3,5βtrideoxyβ__cis__βinositol (taci) was investigated by hydrogenation of azoβcoupled derivatives of phloroglucinol. In the presence of acetic anhydride, the reduction of trisphenylazophloroglucinol (H~2~/Pd(5%) on C) resulted in the
