โฆ Synopsis
Below the solubility limit for substitutional mixing of pentacene in anthracene crystal the anthzcenc emission closely follows that of pure anthracene and that of pcntacene is a well resolved spectrum showing three site origins and mirror symmetry with the absorption spectrum about the strongest otigin at 16395 cm-'. The less structured pentacene emission previously reported appears when the pentacene c&tent is i&eased End is probably from suiface and boundary aggreptti It becomes more prominent with higher guest content, and is accomptied by a padud change toward tine broad anthracene emission shown by Lisovenko et al. to come from surfaces disturbed by foreign molecules. Pasqe through the solubility limit is thus marked by correlated changes in the spectra of host and guest.
