The crystal structure of styrene, C 8 H 8 , has been determined at 120 (2) K following in situ crystal growth from the liquid. Molecules crystallize in the orthorhombic space group Pbcn and contains intermolecular CΓHΓ Γ Γ% interactions, with both the phenyl ring and the alkene unit acting as accept

β¦ Synopsis
The single crystal of the title compound, C 8 H 8 , was obtained by in situ crystallization. The torsion angle between the phenyl ring and the vinyl group is 7.82 (17) . The double-bond length in the vinyl group is 1.3245 (16) A Γ , which is slightly shorter than a normal C C double bond.
