Industrialization and technization of the everyday life and, consequently, an increase of energetics, metallurgy and motorization are the main causes of a harmful environmental contamination, accompanied by a number of negative phenomena, especially of health character 11 1. Being one of the elements of man's environment, food is exposed to the penetration of such harmful elements as lead and cadmium [2, 61. In the light of various data such inevitable elements as copper, zinc and iron require constant testing due to the fact that the nourishing dose is very close to the harmful one [12,14]. The contamination of the environment with heavy metals has been increasing recently [7-9, 141. Therefore, the control of the metal content in various is necessary. The aim of the investigations was the determination of the lead, cadmium, copper, zinc and iron content in some of the internal organs and muscles of porkers.
