The susceptibility anisotropy of ethane was determined to be ~1, -EL= -9.73(65) x 10S3' cm3 from the Zeeman shift of the J = 0 -1, tiff = 0 rotational transition of C113CD3. The deviation from the bond-tensor additivity scheme is discussed, and the Raylei& depohrisation ratio P = l-77(37) X 10s3, d
