✦ Synopsis


When the center frequency of a microwa¨e pulse is tuned ( ) across the spectral range of a photonic bandgap PBG structure implemented in microstrip technology, the group delay introduced ¨aries widely from high ¨alues to strikingly small ¨alues that gi¨e rise to superluminal propagation effects. In this paper, we explore this phenomenon, showing that the same beha¨ior as for optical PBG de¨ices is achie¨ed. ᮊ 1999
