โฆ Synopsis
The temperature dependence of the C=N Raman stretching mode of NHaSCN IS presented. Two bands at 2063 and 2072 cm-r give place to a smgle band at 2044 cm-' within <lยฐC a1 =86_5OC v&h rising temperature; the reverse change occurring at u78JDC with falling temperature. The observed changes in the spectrum at the transibon suggest a fist-order structural phase transition and disordering of Ihe thiocyanate ion in the high-temperature phase.
