Static quenching (T=77K) of luminescence of naphthalene derivatives via CT complexes in solid state with tetracyanoethylene has been studied. The linear correlation between the logarithm of K quenching constant and 1 Q CT frequency in electronic absorption spectra of CT complexes has been observed.
Voltammetric studies of mesoionic 1,2,3,4-oxa-and -thiatriazoles conΓrmed that the former may be reduced irreversibly at potentials between Γ1.19 and Γ1.73 V vs. ferrocene in acetonitrile at scan rates between 0.05 and 1000 mV s-1, whereas the latter are reduced reversibly under the same conditions.
