Gas Liquid Chromatography (GLC)
Fraction FIII-FV were analysed as acetates. Each fraction was acetylated separately in acetic anhydride/pyridine over night at room temperature. The GLC was canied out by Simadzu LKB 9000 gas chromatograph on OV-17 SCOT glass capillary column, 30 m x 0.3 i.d., column temperature 2600 C, injection temp. 2800 C; carrier gas He, 0.60 ml/min; split ratio 120 : 1; detector FID; chart speed 5 mm/min, cholesteryl acetate was used as internal standard to express the relative retention time (RRT). Authentic samples were used for identification. The relative amount of each component was measured by peak area measurement.
