✦ Synopsis

The adsorptive properties of four porous copolymers were investigated. They contained different functional groups in the internal structure. Adsorption measurements were made using the static method. Three two-component and one threecomponent solutions with different physicochemical properties were used. The adsorptive centers of the copolymers were evaluated based on the analysis of excess adsorption isotherms of the polar solution component.

Pyrene crystals were physically mixed with either porous crystalline cellulose (PCC) or octa decyl siryl silica-80TM (ODS). Solid-state fluorescence spectra of pyrene were analyzed to estimate the interaction between pyrene and porous materials. Pyrene monomer emission was observed at 398 nm immedia

Naphthalene adsorption profile on porous materials was studied using solid-state fluorescence spectroscopy. When naphthalene crystals were simply mixed with porous crystalline cellulose (PCC), excimer emission of naphthalene was observed after 1 min of mixing, suggesting a drastic change in the naph

## A new analytical model to describe equilibrium adsorption of condensable vapors on porous adsorbents is developed. It accounts for the heterogeneous pore structure of the adsorbent, adsorption in the micropores by a pore filling mechanism and adsorption and condensation in the macropores. A gam
