The relative rate of reaction4 of sodium 0,0-(1) and sodium O,Sdimethylphosphorodithioate (2) (determined by allowing a mixture of the two sodium salts to compete for a deficiency of methyl iodide-d3) was determined by NMR spectrometric methods. The reaction was carried out at room temperature with deuterated methanol as solvent. It was found that 1 reacted 6.4 2 0.3 times faster than 1 (i.e. kL/kP = 6.4 2 0.3).

As part of a health-hazard survey on the health risk of hospital cleaning workers from exposure to Lyorthol, a hazard assessment of o-phenylphenol (and its sodium salt), one of the constituents of Lyorthol, has been prepared. In this paper, the physical and chemical characteristics, kinetics and ef
