## Abstract A range of unusual fatty acids with __cis__β5βunsaturation had been reported in the seed oil of __Caltha palustris__. Seed oils of __Cimicifuga__ spp. have now been found to contain the same unusual fatty acids as are present in __Caltha__, plus several other minor fatty acids to give a
Acetylenic compounds especially acetylenic fatty acids (Cl, to Cz1) were first of all identified in higher plants. Their structure is very different with regard to the number of the double and triple bonds per molecule, and the functional groups. The mechanism of the biogenesis and the influencing
