## Abstract Catalyzed __N__โ€alkylation of __N,O__โ€bistrimethylsilyl pyroglutamic acid with trimethylsilyl benzhydryl ethers yields trimethylsilyl __N__โ€benzhydrylpyroglutamates. Hydrolysis of these compounds or saponification of the methyl esters gives the corresponding acids.
