'All the in uifro antibacterial activities are given as the minimum concentration (MIC) in mcglml, required to prevent growth of the bacterial culture. Unless otherwise specified, MIC was determined by agar dilution method using heart infusion agar (Difco) after incubation at 37OC for 20 hr and the inoculum size was about 106 C.F.U./ml.S.aureus 33 is penicillin-resistant strain and E.coli 28 is cephalosporin-resistant strain.
