The new compounds La 4 Ti 2 O 4 Se 5 and La 6 Ti 3 O 5 Se 9 have been obtained from stoichiometric reactions of La, Ti, TiO 2 , and Se in fused-silica tubes at 1223 K. Potassium halide 6uxes were used to promote the crystallization. The compounds have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray di4ra
