✦ Synopsis

Copper(IIcyclodextrin complex was prepared and investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Changes in infrared spectra occurring due to complex formation were studied. Strong evidences for the previously proposed binuclear hydroxy-bridged complex could not be observed, but another structure containing two aquocopper(R) ions for one mol @cyclodextrin seemed to be probable. Further support for the simultaneous existence of first-and second-sphere interaction was obtained.
