✦ Synopsis
The 2:1 cyanocuprate [Ar 2 Cu(CN)Li 2 (THF) 4 ] `(1, Ars[C 6 H 4 CH 2 NMe 2 -2] y ) is obtained as the only product in the reaction of two equivalents of ArLi with one equivalent of CuCN in tetrahydrofuran (THF) at y788C. The X-ray crystal structure reveals an ionic polymeric chain consisting of consecutive [Ar 2 Cu] y and [(THF) 2 LiCNLi(THF) 2 ] q units. Its composition in THF solution has been investigated.
