✦ Synopsis

The study of or-methyl ~0-chloro (MCI), ct,oo-dichloro (DCI) and ~-phenyl og-chloro (PCI) oligoisobutylenes has been carried out using GPC and ~H and t3C-NMR spectroscopy and molecular models. The characteristics of the oligomers (particularly their molecular weights, dispersity index and functionalities) are related to the experimental conditions of their synthesis, Side reactions and side compounds are characterized qualitatively and quantitatively. Optimal conditions for the synthesis are defined.
