✦ Synopsis
The structure of the O-antigen chain of the lipopolysaccharide isolated from Rhizobium tropici CIAT899, by the phenol-water procedure, and recovered from the phenol layer, has been investigated by hydrolysis, methylation analysis and 1D and 2D 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy of the complete polysaccharide and of oligosaccharides obtained by partial hydrolysis. The O-antigen has the repeating unit [formula: see text]

The structure of the O-antigen chain of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of Rhizobium trifolii 4s has been determined by a combination of chemical and spectroscopic methods. The glycosyl components were found to be L-rhamnose, N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, and IV-acetyl-D-mannosamine in 3 : 1: 1 molar propor
The structure of the O-antigen polysaccharide of A. pleuropneumoniae serotype 7 was investigated by methylation analysis, partial acid hydrolysis, periodate oxidation, and 1H- and 13C-n.m.r. spectroscopy. The polysaccharide repeating-unit consists of a branched tetrasaccharide having the following s
The lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from Vibrio cholerae O139 was deacylated with KOH. The following structure of the oligosaccharide resulting from this treatment was established on the basis of monosaccharide and methylation analyses, 1H, 13C and 31P 1D and 2D NMR experiments and 1D analogues of 3D NOESY
The 0 antigen obtained from the lipopolysaccharide of Yersinia mckeri serotype 01, by mild acid hydrolysis, is composed of a branched tetrasaccharide repeating unit containing 2-acetamidino-2,6-dideoxy-L-galactose (L-FucAm), 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-D-glucose (D-GlcNAc), and 7-acetamido-3,5,7,9-tetradeox
