This paper presents a study on an alternative coating method based on biomimetic techniques which are designed to form a crystalline HA layer in a manner similar to the process of natural bone formation. The HA formation on the surface of titanium alloy pretreated with NaOH solution is investigated.

## Abstract Hydroxypapatiteβtitania hybrid films on Ti6Al4V alloys were prepared by solβgel technique by incorporating presynthesized hydroxypapatite (Ca~10~(PO~4~)~6~(OH)~2~ or HAp) powders into a titaniumβalkoxide dip coating solution. Titania network was formed by the hydrolysis and condensation
## Abstract The modification on the titanium implant surface is an effective method to improve the biocompatibility of titanium. This article describes efforts to improve implant biocompatibility by applying titania and hydroxyapatite to form a threeβlayer coating on the titanium surface. This thre
## Abstract Bulk hydroxyapatite (HA) and titania have been used to improve the osseointegration of orthopedic implants. For this reason, composites of HA and titania have been receiving increased attention in orthopedics as novel coating materials. The objective of this __in vitro__ study was to pr
## Abstract Composite coatings containing brushite (CaHPO~4~ Β· 2H~2~O) and chitosan were prepared by electrochemical deposition. The brushite/chitosan composites were converted to hydroxyapatite/chitosan composites in aqueous solutions of sodium hydroxide. The coatings ranged from β1 to 15% chitosa
