โฆ Synopsis
Measurement of stress in electrodeposited lead dioxide was carried out using a balance of the Hoa.-Arrowsmith type. A lead-nitrate-copper-nitrate bath was used for the deposition. The effect of anode cd, pH, temperature and addition agents on stress is reported. Stress measurement in electrodeposited lead dioxide from different baths was also carried out. The electrodeposition of PbO, from HCIO, solutions of Pb(II) at an Au rotated disk electrode was studied as a function of applied potential, rotational velocity. Experimental data have shown that the process of PbO, formation has a few stages. The first stage is the formation of particles containing
A Michelson interferometer is modified so that one of the mirrors attached to an arm (that is also a vertical cathode of a minicell) moves several wave-lengths of HeNe laser light as the strain in an electrodepoeit increases with thickness of copper deposited on the stainless steel arm.
