β¦ Synopsis
Predictions are carried out using strain-coupling theory for four steady flows: steady shear, steady planar extension, steady uniaxial extension, and steady equibiaxial extension. The general features of the steady flow predictions are compared with the general characteristics of experimental steady flow data.

Preflocculated ferric hydroxide flocs were subjected to either a simple shear flow or a two-dimensional straining flow, and their motion was optically observed. Digital image analysis was applied to extract information on orientation and deformation from the digitized frames. It was found that the s
## Abstract We consider a treeβlike network of open channels with outflow at the root. Controls are exerted at the boundary nodes of the network except for the root. In each channel, the flow is modelled by the de St. Venant equations. The node conditions require the conservation of mass and the co
## Abstract This work presents a study of the configurational properties of beadβspring chains in steadyβstate potential flows. These properties are obtained from offβlattice Monte Carlo simulations. The results of our simulations compare favourably with theoretical results for phantom chains. We i
