โœฆ Synopsis

This paper deals with a stochastic interpretation of experimental information related to vehicular traffic on roads. The analysis is first related to equilibrium conditions, then it is developed towards interpretation of nonequilibrium conditions and it is addressed to some proposals to revise classical kinetic models.

The noise emitted from steady statistically stationary traffic flow is studied analytically from the point of view of a stochastic acoustic model, in order to relate the noise field in terms of the details of the flow, and the acoustic characteristics of the vehicles therein. Explicit and implicit numerical methods for solving simple traffic flow continuum models have been studied and efficiently implemented in traflic simulation codes. We studied and implemented explicit and implicit numerical methods for solving high-order flow conservation trallic models. The accelera
