โœฆ Synopsis

New way of using long josephson junction for producing microwave radiation based on the idea that moving solitons in josephson junction getting interacted with synchronous electromagnetic wave in some wavegide system can amphfy it just the same as electron beam acts in usual electronic devices is proposed. Simple system realizing this principle is considered. Equations for mutual dynamics of solitons and radiation are derived and it is shown that solitons moving due to external current can amplify waveguide mode when phase velocity of linear mode is close enough to velocity of solitons. Maximal output power and optimal parameters of the proposed system are estimated.

Dynamic properties of two-dimensional arrays of high-To weak links have been investigated. The basic structure is a microbridge patterned in a laser deposited YBa2Cu3 O~ thin film. A submicron rectangular mesh of aluminium strips, diffused by heating to ~300 ยฐC, is used to form a 2-D array of inter-
