The complex of Ni(bpy) 2 dppz 2/ (where dppz is the planar ligand dipyrido [3,2-a: 2,3-c] phenazine) was synthesized. The binding of Ni(bpy) 2 dppz 2/ to calf thymus DNA was investigated using UV absorption, fluorescence spectroscopy, DNA melting, and electrophoresis measurements. The results show t
