## Abstract A series of oligonucleotides containing (5′__S__)‐5′‐__C__‐butyl‐ and (5′__S__)‐5′‐__C__‐isopentyl‐substituted 2′‐deoxyribonucleosides were designed, prepared, and characterized with the intention to explore alkyl‐zipper formation between opposing alkyl chains across the minor groove of
