## Abstract A number of compounds of general formula M(PPO)~__n__~X~2~ are described, the metal ion being Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) and the anions Cl^βˆ’^, Br^βˆ’^, I^βˆ’^, NO~3~^βˆ’^, ClO~4~^βˆ’^ and NCS^βˆ’^; PPO stands for 2,5‐diphenyloxazole and __n__ = 1, 2, 4. The complexes are prepared by reaction of t
