โฆ Synopsis
Proton spin-&t&u refasation times rvere measured in soIid NI-I.+CIOq from 80 to 400ยฐK. Relow 200ยฐK the observed relsstltion times are due to dipoh interaction, abox that iemp--rature spin-rotational interactions become predominani.
A potential barrier of 0.70 kcal mole-' was obtained for the reorientation of the NIf; ion. The spinrotational interaction cmstant was evalurtted using the shielding constant and the calculated potential energ. The spin-rotational rclasation rate predicted by the transient rotation model shows reasonably good agacmcnt with the observed value.
