✦ Synopsis

The condition for an echo formation is reviewed in the context of half-integer quadrupole system. The common features of the classical echo phenomena and the coherence transfer echo are highlighted. The article also explains how the measurement of a series of coherence transfer echoes achieves the high-resolution feature of the ( ) multiple-quantum magic angle spinning MQMAS experiment.

It has been recently shown that second-order anisotropies can be removed from solid phase NMR spectra of quadrupolar nuclei via the combined use of magic-angle spinning (MAS) and bidimensional multiple-quantum (MQ) spectroscopy. The present study investigates the conditions under which the acquisiti

Goldman's spin-1/2 formalism has been used for describing the response of an I=3/2 spin system to a two-pulse sequence in a pure nuclear quadrupole resonance experiment. A detailed analysis of the polarization evolution and quadrupolar echo generation is carried out through the use of explicit expre

We have recently shown that the sensitivity of single-and multiple-quantum NMR experiments of half-integer (N/2) quadrupolar nuclei can be increased significantly by introducing so-called double frequency sweeps (DFS) in various pulse schemes. These sweeps consist of two sidebands generated by an am
