✦ Synopsis
The presence cf two sets of inequivalent trimeric clusters in [CI~O(CH~COO)~(H~O:~~ C1.6H20 at low tempera ture has been confirrrk-l by luminescence and luminescence excitation spectroscopy.
Assignments of the four lowest levels of the lowest electr~.+cally excited state have been made. The ground state parameters have been determined.

A new compound containing polyoxovanadoborate anion was synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. A water molecule at the center of the anion was precisely determined. The crystals of the new compound belong to the monoclinic system, space group P2 1 /n with a=1.350
