✦ Synopsis

A new compound containing polyoxovanadoborate anion was synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. A water molecule at the center of the anion was precisely determined. The crystals of the new compound belong to the monoclinic system, space group P2 1 /n with a＝1.35002( 7), b＝2.0864(1), c＝ 2.3667(1) nm, β＝90.669(1)°, V＝6.6660(5) nm 3 , Z＝4, µ＝2.066 mm -1 , D c ＝2.352 g/cm 3 , M r ＝2359.2, S＝1.152, R＝0.0642, wR＝0.0789.
