✦ Synopsis
Polycrystalline samples of single phase of TlxBa2CalCu2Oy have been prepared by a conventional method of powder calcination from a mixture of T1203, BaO 2, CaO and CuO. Three samples (a, b and c) of different compositions as x=2.10, 1.94 and 1.82 and y=8.15, 7.91 and 7.73, respectively, have been studied by measuring electrical resistivities, ac magnetic susceptibilities and specific heats from liquid helium temperature to room temperature. Specific heat anomalies have been observed at 104, 96 and 89 K with ACp=2.6, 2.8 and 2.2 JK-Imol -I for sample a, b and c, respectively.
It seems that the property varies continuously with composition and shows a maximum at the stoichiometric value.
