## Abstract We have used accumulated metal concentration data to investigate variability in the bioavailabilities of cadmium, copper, lead, zinc and iron to the amphipod __Gammarus fossarum__ inhabiting the Biala Przemsza river system draining an area of lead and zinc mining. The highest bioavailab
