✦ Synopsis

Measurement of ocular tension in the morning in bed is necessary not only at the beginning of the treatment of simple glaucoma but also during periodical checks of the efficiency of pressure regulation. If the measurement is performed with the Schi6tz tonometer its reading has to be related to the applanation values. The best way for doing this is determination of 'Schmidt's differential value ' (d.v.).

It seems that certain individuals react to long duration of therapy with any miotic by developing trichiasis and entropion of the upper lid.
