The emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate was carried out in the absence or in the presence of some electrolytes such as sodium chloride, calcium chloride, aluminum chloride, sodium sulphate, and ammonium phosphate at 50ะC using potassium persulphate-sodium bisulphite as a redox i

โฆ Synopsis
The kinetics of emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate using the redox initiation system of potassium persulfate-potassium metabisulfite was studied. The effect of the reaction conditions on the rate of polymerization was also investigated. The polymerization proceeded smoothly until high conversion and yielded stable emulsions. The apparent activation energy for the polymerization system was calculated and the effect of some inorganic substances on the rate of polymerization was also revealed. C) ]997 .

## Abstract Polystyrene/poly(vinyl acetate) latex nanoparticles with a coreโshell morphology in an emulsifierโfree emulsion polymerization system were prepared with purified styrene and vinyl acetate (VAc) as monomers and 2,2โฒโazo bis(2โamino propane) dihydrochloride (ABA,2HCl) as the initiator and
The formation of oligomers in emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization of styrene was characterized by means of gel permeation chromatography and surface tension measurements. GPC analysis showed incessant oligomer formation throughout the emulsion polymerization process. Oligomers spanned a molecula
A "continuous" emulsifier-free emulsion copolymerization (CEFEP) of styrene and divinylbenzene (DVB) or methyl methacrylate (MMA) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) has been devised to produce uniform polymeric microspheres of narrow size distribution from 74 nm to 2 m , depending on reactio
