โฆ Synopsis
This paper discusses the health and safety aspects associated with the component manufacture of CuInSe2/CdZnS solar cells. This process has an inherently safe nature in that the main portion of it is performed under vacuum. The major safety problem associated with the process is the cleaning and handling of the materials used in the vacuum deposition. Estimates are given for the amount of material that must be disposed of or recycled duing one year's production at realistic production rates.
