✦ Synopsis


An investigation has been made to see whether it is possible to use crossflow filtration on a technical scale instead of centrifugal separators for the separation of bacteria from fermentation broth and celldebris from a suspension of desintegrated bacteria. It was shown that it is very likely that crossflow filtration can be used, but more work should be done with for example finding the right type of membrane, testing the life time of the membrane and finding the right type of filter equipment.
