Chloromethyl phthalimide, oxymethyl phthalimide, and phthalimide are absorbed by the albino rat at a comparatively high rate. Only phthalimide, the metabolic product, will be recordable from fetuses, following oral administration of chloromethyl phthalimide and oxymethyl phthalimide topregnant rats.

Male albino rats were fed different dietary brans at 20% level for two months to study their effect on lipid metabolism. Wheat and corn brans significantly (P < 0.05) decreased the serum cholesterol level while chickpea bran significantly (P < 0.05) lowered the liver and heart cholesterol concentrat
