✦ Synopsis

The emf of the cell Pt, HZ, HBz(m), Hg,Bz2, Hg in formamide has been measured at 5°C intervals over the temperature range 5-45"C. The values of the standard potentials of the mercurymercurous benzoate electrode can be fitted in the firm of equation, obtained by using the least squares method: E" = 0.2544 -6.50 x IO-'(t -25) -4.29 x 10-6(t -25)*.

The standard thermodynamic quantities (At?, AH", and AS") for the cell reaction have been evaluated for different temperatures.
