โฆ Synopsis
Solid support-bound chemistry has been used to gain access to several polyfunctional ureas which could not be easily produced via traditional solution phase approaches.

A new strategy for the solid-phase synthesis of unsymmetrical ureas is described. Upon treatment of Kenner safety-catch linker with an isocyanate, followed by TMSCHN 2 or iodoacetonitrile and an amine, the corresponding unsymmetrical ureas are released in solution.
The bisbenzotriazole compound (I) is a safe, mild, and versatile reagent for the synthesis of unsymmetrical tetrasubstituted ureas of type (Va)-(Ve). It can also be used for the preparation of di-and trisubstituted ureas such as (Vf) and (Vg).
