✦ Synopsis

Synthesizing the findings of a research program began in 2000 and now nearing its completion, European computer scientists explore reconfigurability aspects in various layers on the mobile network and terminal, and the introduction of reconfigurability management middleware and protocol adaptability mechanisms. These have become key factors for supporting flexible and adaptable service provision to mobile communications users. Readers are intended to be primarily professional researchers and wireless manufacturers and operators, though graduate and undergraduate students in mobile and wireless communication might also be interested.
