Abstract
The same factors that govern the stability of hydrophobic colloidal systems influence the behaviour of thin detergent films. The study of soap films can therefore clarify many of the problems relating to colloidal stability, and vice versa. The advantages and limitations of the soap film approach are discussed. An interesting way of performing such experiments is to investigate the thickness of slowly formed soap films. Some results of this method are set forth.
